My Family Freedom
Sharing our adventures as we seek to build lives of physical, emotional, financial and spiritual freedom as a family. We’d love for you to come along on the journey.

About Us:
Hi! Derek and Bethany Hixson here! We’ve been married for eight years and we’ve been blessed with three spirited little boys! They keep us on our toes but make life so incredibly fun! Derek is an Electrician and loves working with his hands, enjoying the great outdoors and exploring new business opportunities. Bethany stays home full time to juggle, raise and homeschool three crazy but adorable young gentlemen and loves all things pertaining to keeping the mind and body happy and healthy! We love Jesus, are saved by grace and hope that reflects in all we do!

What We Hope To Accomplish:
Sharing Our Journey
This life is an ADVENTURE! Every bit of it. We are thankful for the breath in our lungs and want to live each day that God has given to the full. This is our journey as we learn to walk wisely, joyfully, and in freedom each day.
Being Honest And Real
Life has many ups and downs, successes and failures, victories and losses… in every area of life. The only way to learn from one another and to grow from our experiences is to share in the joys, walk together through the struggles, and be real with each other.
Seeking True Freedom
Our world is currently crazier than ever and freedom often feels at stake. We hope to remind ourselves and everyone that our freedom lies in the hope we can have in Christ… that is our FOUNDATION as we pursue physical, emotional, and financial freedom in our day to day lives.

TRUTH:
One way to get the most out of life is to look upon it as an adventure. ~ William Feather

I just like to share the journey and hopefully offer mutual encouragement. I think part of mutual encouragement comes with being honest with each other. So, I’ll be real here… I’m currently wrapping upContinue reading “My “Worst” Homeschool Year Yet”
- “Young Moms Don’t Need Us, They’ve Got Google”A friend of mine, in the thick of mothering toddlers, recently shared a concerning story. She told me that she’d found herself one day surrounded by a group of older (not “old” just “older”) women and mothers in a small church kitchen, when one of them expressed a sense of feeling expendable. Perhaps she wasContinue reading ““Young Moms Don’t Need Us, They’ve Got Google””
- My Stereotypical, Classic, Clueless, Female MomentAlright, now y’all don’t need to go gettin’ your panties in a wad. I’m well aware that what I pulled this morning is not a universal misstep. I know there are tons of women out there that know cars, and mechanical issues, and what you’d need to give an officer if you ever got pulledContinue reading “My Stereotypical, Classic, Clueless, Female Moment”
